Yes. She woke up on the boat after having slept on the floor - he wasn't fully awake yet and started "fumbling with the hem of her shift" and she said "Stop! Remember where we are for god's sake!" and he was like "oh right, a pity that" or something like that. Then there was some dialogue and he said "I mean to take my time about it, aye?" Then I melted right the hell into my kitchen stool... then I died. In that order.
In what chapter can one find this memorable line? I've been re-reading Drums of Autumn (as well as the other books) for the past couple of days, trying to postpone the inevitable - finishing the last chapters of An Echo, I mean. I have them only on my kindle, though, and can't seem to locate the scene. Either way, it's been verra nice to re-read things guided by your blog posts, thank you.
Hey Emily - I just posted a comment about Drums...and then totallyyyyyy deleted it when I realized this line is probably from Voyager. Couldn't be Drums, right? They woke up and he was fumbling with her skirts and she was all "Um, hi, we're not alone" (still love that scene). I'll look it up - should be able to find it with the search feature on my Kindle. :)
Thanks, I located it in the meantime, as I've been re-reading the most *ahem* interesting scenes between Jamie and Claire. I think it was it Drums, though, sometime before they were robbed by Bonnet on the boat. I should probably check again. Looking forward to your reactions to MOBY. By the way, just wanted to say, I'm the blog visitor from Munich, if you were wondering ;)
OK, that's it. I'm starting the MOP Twitter account RIGHT NOW just to post that shit. HILARIOUS.
ReplyDeleteI know right? I died. I had to post it. Holy friggin YUM!
ReplyDeleteIs that specific line in Drums? I do think he's said variations on it before...
ReplyDeleteHe's such a tease. But dammit, it's hot.
