What Could Be...

Tracey and I saw this clip when we went to see Eclipse - and the outdoor Scotland scenes killed us. Up on the big screen... set to powerful music... you know where I'm going with this.

  3. oooow, goosebumps. I forgot how much I liked Harry Potter. I think there is some Scotland in the others, too. I'm going to have to watch them again.
Have you ever surfed Flickr for Scotland photos and castles? There are some cool ones over there. I added some to my screen saver.

  4. I have been on a Harry Potter tear, lately. Saw the first 4 last week.. and have 5&6 for this week from Netflix. And I'll be seeing #7 with Tracey in November... and crying through the whole thing because of how dreamy it all looks on the big screen.

I know I should go back and read the books... and someday I will.

I don't think it's surprising that Outlander fans would be into Harry Potter - especially the later books/films when they're a bit older. They're full of mysticism and adventure. And yes - gorgeous Scotland scenery in all the films. Dark mountainous terrain with monstrous lochs and gothic castles? Yeah. Harry had me at "Hello".

  5. Only one problem with that plan, Carol--Tracey has never seen the movies or read the books.

I DO plan to read the books--hopefully will get started this summer. My book club is beginning "The Passage" next week, which is a big-arsed volume--and I'm gonna take a stab at "The Time Traveler's Wife" this week. Oh, and there's the wee matter of rereading Dragonfly, Voyager, etc. again!

  6. Tracey - so you rent the movies and get yourself caught up. You have until November. Frankly I'm kindof happy to watch the films before reading the books. We all know how the books are always so much better. Gives me something to look forward to. My only problem: I'm a sucker for romance!!! (As if you couldn't tell?!)

  7. No can do--MUST read the books first. Maybe I'll have 'em all read/watched by #7 part deux.

  10. I'm so jealous of people that haven't read the Harry Potter books - to jump in them for the first time is just amazing!! I would say definitely read them first especially if you don't know anything about the story or have heard things about/from the movies!

  11. Tracy, Time Traveler's Wife is AMAZING (just make sure you have lots of time...it's addicting)! And I support you in wanting to read the books first ;). The guy who reads them (Jim Dale) on the Audiobooks is amazing.

I am SO excited about these movies. I already told my brother (my Harry Potter partner in crime) to prepare himself because I will probably bawl through the whole thing!

I don't usually cry in books, by Deathly Hallows definitely had me in tears!

  12. LOVELOVELOVE Jim Dale!!! Since today is all about musicals, I must say that I've loved him ever since he was the original P.T. Barnum in "Barnum" on Broadway.

PS I am singing all my comments today LOL...
