Too cool.....count to 180 ( the kids!!)hahahahaha....its like my house, as soon as I get on the net-there they are!! ...no one in the kitchen, quick!!! yes I feel you, family, why don't you get it,its OUTLANDER!!!! You guys have made my whole weekend!!!!! only you guys understand!!!!! what are we going to do until august 2011 or 2012 or whatever.... TRACY...I'm on the water of voyager too!!!! LOVING IT!!!! Guess we'll have to reread, and reread!!!!!!
What a freakin' hoot your lastest video is. I just ordered Leaf from my local bookstore and what a relief to look forward to. Everything I've picked up has been PALE, so pale in comparison to outlander et.al. I may have posted this before, but I gave outlander to my 90 year old mom to read, she read it, and said "too much sex and violence." I'm looking forward to PatzR's review. Hope I got the name right. Anyway, you gals made this boring Friday after Thanksgiving quite a lot more interesting!!! Love the kids, too. Keep up the good work!
Oh, I forgot... watch the Youtube videos, "Rob Roy - Highland Warrior, The True Story." I think it was originally a Discovery Channel production. I know you "love the Scots" and this series of vids are not only hilarious, but whoever is playing Rob Roy has a GREAT Scottish accent! Hope you enjoy!
I love your little ones appearing - they're darling.
Why it matters what Frank knew, I posted this on Diana's blog as well: while Jamie's The Man, maybe Frank's the real hero here. Think of the ghost scene in Outlander and how that may play out in the end. Frank raised and loved Jamie's daughter, preserved his wife, SHARED his wife, ensured their reunion. I'm thinking Jamie will end up owing Frank quite a bit. How will Jamie cope with that? How will he make it all right? What about that box of letters? Could Jamie have communicated directly to Frank in those?
loved the videos - my own monsters, erm kids, have descended - must go!
You guys totally rock!! how cute are those kids begging for their desserts... come on already; let's get the pies out! I finally finished the final book of the Bronze Horseman Trilogy and made my way over to Leaf. I'm usually 1st in line for for new Outlander-esque material, so it was pretty painful to wait for it! LOVED IT!!! Can't wait for another chat, since I sat the last one out.
Turned off your video & ran to the bookstore to buy Leaf (yes, on Black Friday)...40 pages later & I'm a bit stressed - probably from the shoppers just as much as what I read. Jerry ROCKS!!! I can't quite get his physical appearance though, I imagined him like Roger yet he describes Roger & Buck as BIG and Roger dark???. I loved when Roger told Jerry he loved him (I thought it WAS very Roger). Carol - I'm with you regarding Frank. Frank???? I think he did believe Claire when she came back through the stones. I think he knew she couldn't lie & was JEALOUS!!! Hello, I'm sure she was calling for Jamie in her sleep & so forth...He wouldn't give her up & probably cheated so many times to punish her (although I don't think it had the effect he wanted which Claire to love him more than Jamie so he punished them both by keeping them apart instead of telling her he believed her) Through the years he must have recalled bits and pieces of what she told him and who knows what was found "where" Jerry went down...But on to Frank's "fatherly love" I think he knows what will happen to Brianna (in the future or at least knew she also traveled to the past otherwise why would he have gotten her riding lessons & musket shooting practice not to mention his note???) I'm thinking that maybe Bree & the kids travel back to find Roger??? I do hope he doesn't get lost and disappear. I am looking forward to some kind of reunion with Bree & William in Book 8. Also, I do believe Leaf is important to Book 8 just like I think LJ & the Brotherhood of the Blade is important to Scottish Prisoner so if you haven't read LJ - you must! Jamie is in the LJ & TBOTB. I do feel this novel is very connected to the Outlander Series & is a must read (it does help to clarify who Percy is in "Echo") So I'm still digesting Leaf & thinking...
Hi girls. I have been thinking about Frank. I don't think Frank knew anything about the time travel when he went to give Dolly the medal. I also don't think Frank knew anything when Claire returned after being gone for 3 years. I think he still loved her and was doing his best to stand by her. I think after Bree was born was when he started to take her stories seriously and being a historian could really investigate the truth of those stories. When certain facts ie real people, places, and events proved to be fact then he had to believe. There must have been some evidence that he discovered that proved Brianna had gone back also and so he deceided that he needed to prepare her to survive hence the riding and shooting lessons. Think of how heartbroken he must have been to know that Claire had someone else that was the love of her life and didn't love him any longer but was with him out of obligation. He was still in love with Claire and gave his whole heart to Bree but knew Claire would never again really be his and he could never be the man Jamie was. Don't you think that would be devastating? I think he wanted to take Bree with him to England in the hopes that he could stop her from going back with Claire. Trying to protect her. We don't give Frank enough credit for what he did for Claire and Brianna.
Sanderson11, I agree with you, I have always thought a story about Frank would be good. His search for Claire and how he was coming to terms with her disappearance. Maybe something in the back of his mind about stone circles - he knew about myths and such. His slow belief in Claire's story. All of the research he must have done as well as his relationship with Bree. The story would include Claire's medical school time and her relationship with Joe.
With DG's talent for twists and turns it would be an amazing story. I hope DG will consider this in her down time :)
Bought Songs of Love and Death over the weekend and zipped through DG's short story. Too sad! My question: why did Roger send his dad back asap? Roger thought his dad was listed as missing (aka, dead) in WWII, not that he was blown to bits (sorry, ladies) with his wife during the blitz. Am I forgeting something from Echo? Couldn't Roger have spent a little time with Jerry? Jerry could have gone back during the winter solstice, dec. 21. Note: the other short stories in George R. R. Martin's anthology are pretty good! Also, George's books are GREAT--watch for the HBO version in 2011: Songs of Fire and Ice (or something lke that). --Julie
You two are great! I love your videos!! Thanks for doing it on Thanksgiving. Cant wait to hear how your mom likes the book! My mother in law read it, and she loved it! :)
