Hayley Atwell IS Claire

Spoiler Alert:  Dinna read unless you have read "An Echo in the Bone".

I just watched "Captain America" and couldn't stop texting Tracey because Hayley Atwell IS Claire Beauchamp Randall Fraser Grey.  She is Claire perfection on a plate!  It's uncanny!!




(My apologies if anyone suffered any kind of faintness of heart whilst watching Eddie Redmayne at work. He is positively scrumptious.)

    Absolutely! Now let's get this movie/miniseries made before everyone we love gets any older....

    I saw Hayley in a play in London. She's good, but IMHO, she's no Claire! There was a post show chat with the actors and again IMHO, there is a tad too much ego there. She doesn't have Claire's luminescence - or presence. Sorry, I don't mean to be a grinch!!

    Yeah, I don't think she's Claire, either. I saw Emily Blount (Blunt?? Idk) in the Queen Victoria movie, and I think she still has my vote.

    You've got me addicted -- I can't stop watching the "Pillars of the Earth" clip. I was interested in watching the series before but now I HAVE to! When he says he's so full of longing for her I melt!! I seriously have watched it multiple times a day since you posted it. Sigh...

    Oh Marci...I hear ya. Welcome to Eddie Redmayne (or as I like to call him, "The Voice". ;) I don't want to post anything else from Pillars because I don't want to give anything away (if you haven't read the book!) He's fantastic.

    I bought my oldest the Captain America DVD for Christmas and I've watched it twice now. [I really must let him watch it at some point and stop hogging it for myself].

    I thought Hayley Atwell was okay but I to be honest I think that the only reason she reminds people of Claire is the way she is wearing 1940's clothes, hair and makeup. A lot of actresses would have looked very similar given the same attention to detail.

    I'm not saying that I would hate the idea of her playing Claire as physically she ticks all the boxes but she wouldn't be my first choice.

    I can see her playing Claire, especially after watching her and Matthew McFayden in Any Human Heart. Check it out, it's on Netflix. It has several episodes and I think she comes in around episode 2.
