Great job girls! I wished more than once that you were in LA with us for this. When they played the trailer, every hair on my body stood up. It was awesome.
My take on a couple of things:
"Claire...Claire Beachamp" DG said on CompuServe that the lines after this will make Claire's attitude clear. It's just not in the trailer. Also, if you go back and check the book, you'll see that "And who the hell are you" is actually in there. DG has just told that story so often we all think it is.
Can't believe you didn't talk about Jamie yelling Tullach Ard and leading the charge! :)
Woman struggling is Jenny I think.
Unbuttoning Jamie I think IS Claire but I think it's after the night of entertainment in the Hall when she removes the bandages from his shoulder. That's why she is more formally dressed.
All in all, I think the trailer has done just what it's supposed to do. I can't WAIT for more.
I love you guys!! Time flies when I watch your videos!! I sooo wish they could be interactive.
Anyhoo, one thing you guys debated was the scene with Jamie's intense look. I think that's the beginning of the scene where Claire fixes his shoulder after they get back to Leoch. Remember it's when he tells her a bit about Jenny & Lollybroch?
Also, the woman we see being held back and she screaming? I think that's a flashback to when BJR comes to Lollybroch and Jamie is tied to the wagon (in the book). Just my thoughts.
Anyhoo, fabulous video as always and I canna wait to hear more from you guys and we get closer to this magnificence hitting Starz.
Great video, guys! I have the same "info. overload jitters/anxiousness/braincloud" that you mentioned. Bringing this project to screen has been so long in coming that I'm literally buzzing with excitement! ;)
This was shared on twitter by @JennyC_VA. It's a scan of Starz Pocket Jamie to print and share. :)
That was a lot of fun. Thanks! I kept wanting to interject my own comments -- it's definitely Dougal that Claire is talking to at the end, for example, and the mystery woman struggling in the grip of the Redcoats is Jenny. And there are forget-me-nots at the base of Craigh na Dun, if you look very closely. Lots to talk about, for sure! See you tonight!
I'm so glad the above commenter posted what Jamie is yelling in the trailer. I've watched the trailer a million times but my 11 month old picks that exact moment to babble and I couldn't figure it out. Now I have to watch it again! SO excited for summer!!!!
OMG Laura...they know. Don't they?? They just KNOW! Mommy's doing something really important...I must...make noise! Mine are the same and they're in elementary school! ;)
That said - I have to watch it again, too. Totally missed that!!!
Dear Carol and Tracy, I was at the event in LA on Saturday...but that's not why I'm writing. While I was gone my husband sat down at his computer to watch the event. To kill some time he started looking at all things Outlander on the internet and came across you two. When I got home he couldn't wait to show me some of your You Tube stuff, excited as if he found a pot of gold for me. I laughed and burst his bubble when I said, "pffft, that's Carol and Tracy, of course I know who they are". Any hoo, I just wanted to tell you that he thinks you two are HILARIOUS!...and of course, I do too. Thanks for all the fun on the interweb!
First time commenter here - great site! There is a bit in the Outlandish Companion where DG is talking about writing Outlander and how she started off with a bunch of Scots in a cottage and introduced an Englishwoman. Who promptly said "I'm Claire Elizabeth Beauchamp, who the hell are you?" and took over the story. By the time the book came out this had changed - she first says "Who the hell are you?" to BJR in the woods but doesn't give her own name. By the time she's in the cottage she's much more...wary? cautious? Definitely less belligerent when faced with twenty or so strange men than one lone man in the woods who looks like Frank.
Welcome Jenny!! We hope you comment a lot more in the future!! :) THANK YOU because it's been driving me batty! I knew she said "who the hell are you"!!! :)
