MOP VIDEO: "Mercy Shall Follow Me" Episode 510 RECAP

My Outlander Purgatory's Carol and Tracey are back to recap the latest episode of Season 5 of Outlander, the Starz series based on Diana Gabaldon's best selling book series. Join us as we break down every moment (and then some), including how the fact that we’re not in Scotland has made us especially depressed (and a bit drunker); why we’re just realizing now that Ross Poldark is gone for good; why season 4 was a much better look on Stephen Bonnet (as opposed to this season’s mustache-twirling psycho boy); why we missed Ian’s mad Mohawk skillz; how we felt about the glass guy; the remarkable feat of committing Moby Dick to memory (let alone reading it); why Stephen Bonnet is arguably an antihero; why the idea of a Stephen Bonnet pining for his lost child makes us gag; why OUR Stephen Bonnet is NOT crazy; what the whole Bonnet/Bree storyline had in common with Little House on the Prairie (and OMG Michael Landon: hot AF); what it would have been like if Bree had taught Bonnet to read instead; whether this whole “I want the Brady Bunch life” thing was a ruse on Bonnet’s part or not (Carol says yes, Tracey says HELL no); why Philip Wylie is Carol’s new boyfriend; why Duncan and Jocasta’s relationship is questionable; why Bonnet and the lady buyer would have gotten away with it too if it weren’t for those meddling Frasers; and MUCH, MUCH MORE!!

MOP Video: Season 5, Episode 509 "Monsters and Heroes"

My Outlander Purgatory's Carol and Tracey are back to recap the latest episode of Season 5 of Outlander, the Starz series based on Diana Gabaldon's best selling book series. Join us as we break down every moment (and then some), including why Laura Anderson from Love Island is awesome; whether or not we should be on Cameo; why the John Krasinski #SGNProm was really for older ladies; whether Ian will keep the Mohawk lewk; why we all ARE UP IN THE FACE OF ANYONE WHO EFFS WITH OUR SAM; why the people of the Ridge felt the need to dye everything blue; how JAMMF is just a typical dad of a daughter; why no one could get a shot of a million buffalo just standing there; why Edward Cullen should be around to solve all snake bite emergencies; why it’s a good thing Claire didn’t decide to invent blue jeans; whether or not we know what JAMMF “meant”; why JAMMF really needed that shot of penicillin; what the actual danger of a buffalo is (and whether or not it could really headbutt someone across the backyard); how Claire and JAMMF’s first floor master suite is the envy of all viewers of “House Hunters: Ridge Edition”; why we’ll always take an episode in which Fergus has more than two lines; the meaning behind the Ian/Fergus conversation; what Claire has in common with a crash cart; a deep dive into JAMMF’s psyche; and MUCH, MUCH MORE!!

MOP Video: Season 5, Episode 508: "Famous Last Words" RECAP

My Outlander Purgatory's Tracey and Carol are back to recap the latest episode of Season 5 of Outlander, the Starz series based on Diana Gabaldon's best selling book series. Join us as we break down every moment, including what made us literally scream with joy; why we’d be way distracted in Professor Wakefield’s class; what we thought of Bree and Roger’s newfound love of silent films; how Claire would conquer Coronavirus; how much we’d like to check out what’s in Lord John’s box; Jocasta and her lost LOVAH; why Tracey has decided to overlook the This Is Us treatment of Lord John and his ability to travel to the Ridge; why Joanna Gaines must be on the Big House payroll; how Jem is now aging in soap opera years; Bree’s undiscovered musical talents; why the “JAMMF and Claire playing tag with Jem” is everything we didn’t know we needed; how worrying about John Bell as a Mohawk kept us up at night (needlessly, thank god!!); why the reunion was a little underwhelming for us (and don’t at us, bro!!); why the tarot cards raised our eyebrows; why Lizzie has become the new Daisy from Downton; a debate on the bond between Ian and Marsali; the underlying meaning of the silent movie; the AMAZING performance from John Bell; and MUCH, MUCH MORE!!

"A Letter to our Community" - City Tavern Chef Walter Staib

Wanted to share the following community email I received this AM from Walter Staib, Chef at City Tavern in Philadelphia...and star of A Taste of History on PBS.

My Outlander Purgatory is not affiliated with City Tavern in any way. I just love them and have a ton of respect for what they do. I had a phenomenal experience there with Tom and the kids on Mother's Day weekend in 2017, and I will cherish it forever. I can't wait to go back and I hope you all get to experience it sometime in the near future, too. ❤️

A Letter to our Community:

I wanted to take a moment and extend my heartfelt best wishes for health to our community in these unsettling times and recognize the brave men and women on the front lines of the medical field. While these times are challenging for any business, it is important that we all follow the guidelines of our Government leaders and “Stay-at-Home”.

I have worked tirelessly over my lifetime in recreating an atmosphere at City Tavern that brings the world a unique view of the cuisine of 18th century life. It is so easy to think of our Founding Fathers as abstract concepts of Liberty and Freedom and to forget that they were walking and breathing human beings that existed, in many ways, as we do now. Needless to say, the founders faced many challenges in their own lives, but they persisted, and we became a better nation through it. I have no doubt, that we will come together and defeat this horrible virus.

When that day comes, City Tavern will be here for you, as it was for our Forefathers when they needed a hot meal or cold brew after deliberating the Declaration of Independence. Food is often our great comforter.

With an understanding of the difficult times we are all in, I ask only if you are able, to “Buy it Forward” and purchase a gift card for later use, to show your support and help our business during these turbulent times.

Gift Cards may be purchased online or using the button below.

I thank you in advance.
